Authorities Describe Violent Scene
According to FOX29, Philadelphia Police Inspector Scott Small provided details of the chaotic scene that unfolded on Wednesday night. Police counted 17 spent shell casings that were fired from a semi-automatic weapon at the intersection of Somerset and Bambrey. Nearly two dozen evidence markers indicated the violence as it happened.
Inspector Small stated that one to three shooters exited a vehicle and opened fire intentionally into the crowd gathered on the block. He suggested that someone in the crowd may have been an intended target but the shooters sprayed bullets indiscriminately.
7 Victims Receive Emergency Care
The victims ranged in age from 16 to 47-years-old. Three victims were transported to Temple University Hospital in a private vehicle with gunshot wounds to their arms and legs. All three are currently in stable condition.
Two females were also brought to Temple by police after sustaining gunshot wounds to their legs. They are also considered stable at this time.
A 16-year old girl suffered a graze wound to her abdomen and is recovering at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. Additionally, an 18-year old female with a gunshot wound to her back arrived at Temple later in stable condition.

After unleashing the barrage of bullets, Inspector Small stated that the perpetrators entered a dark sedan which then sped eastbound on Somerset. Police are currently on the lookout for this vehicle which may provide evidence or leads in the case.
The sedan is described as a 4-door model with dark-colored paint. It has yellow tape or plastic material securing the rear trunk. Investigators believe security cameras in the area may have captured footage of the suspect vehicle that could assist the investigation.
