Fatal Shooting at Delaware Carnival

A night of family fun at a carnival turned deadly when shots rang out in the parking lot of the Concord Mall in Wilmington, Delaware. On May 11, 2024 at approximately 10:45 p.m., a fight broke out among carnival goers at the L.E.A.D. Fest Carnival, leading to gunfire. 16-year-old Zykier Flowers sustained fatal injuries, while a 17-year-old was seriously wounded but survived.

The carnival was organized by local non-profit L.E.A.D. (Leading Every Adult and Child to Destiny) and held in a parking area across from the Concord Mall on 4737 Concord Pike. The mall and carnival property are managed by the Allied Retail Properties.
